Pokemon say their name

I was playing Pokemon Platinum and I noticed some Pokemon say their name. (example Spearow, Blaziken, and Pachirisu)

In the "world" of Pokemon, they have always said their name. I remember playing Pokemon Gold Version on the Game Boy Color, and they have always said their name.

It's amazing people didn't know that.
