    Is my PSP bricked?

    Hi all,

I'm not sure what's going with my PSP, here's what I did:

My PSP was 5.03 Gen-A and I wanted to update it to 5.50 Gen-B.
So I donwloaded the 5.50 Gen-A file (I got the file from console discussions) and tried to install it from there.

I don't remember exactly what it said on the screen but what I can see from youtube, you're supposed to see a command saying that you need to press x to continue or L/r to cancel and then it will take you to the sony official download thing.

    Well I didn't get that.

I didn't get ANY of those stuff, instead after a few seconds my PSP turned off.

I tried to turn it back on, but all I can see is the orange light (memory stick) glowing for a few seconds (the screen is blank) and then after 10 seconds it just goes off again.

When I had the UMD in the PSP, it makes alot of noise.

I tried to press the R button while turning it back on but no luck.

I just bought a pandora battery (I can't be stuffed making it anymore, I feel depressed!) and I hope that would fix the problem.
Thing is, I'd like to know if I can fix it without the pandora battery..

My PSP is the FFVII anniversary edition (not the japanese version, it's more the australian version).

    Thanks guys.

Dude it really sounds like you bricked your PSP. and usually you can't fix a brick without a pandora and a MMS.

You're bricked. No true way to really fix it unless you use the pandora

I must agree.. Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick is the solution.. Good thing you bought one, or at least have one. It comes in handy as you can unbrick your PSP anytime.
