Yea blackrain will do the trick. Is 3.1 jailbreakable though? I don't think the out of the box product comes with 3.1 but if it does I'm not sure it'll work.

it just means what new features it has. the 3rd gen has a new processor and a more compact logic board (the apple term for a motherboard). and that's pretty much it. the 3rd gen disappointed me

I believe 2nd? but don't quote me on that. Apple really didn't stream line their product line. and yes, 3.1 is jailbreakable
