Can we now use playstation network with this firmware

I have 5.00 M33-6 and I follow all the directions and after I ran both installers in the root of my ms it had a file called flash error txt and when u open it up it says invalid firmware need 5.50 some plz help to tell me what when wrong
When i tried to install the UPDATE , it freezes my PSP !
**I'm currently Installing the Gen-A .
When i tried to on my PSP back , it freezes again !
It kept freezing and freezing . Any knows why ?
This firmware is unreliable
i hate this firmware, i had it for a little bit then switched back from the lack of updates for it

Heh i can see alot of people are having problems.. Cause i am too *crys* when you install the gen A some people get there psp bricked.. for some ungodly reason.. mine is a psp 2000. And which is now bricked *woohoo*

I downloaded this firmware from 3 different sources, ran it and updated my PSP slim 2001 and all of them gets stuck at 99% updating.
All 3 times i have to take my pandora battery out coz the shit won't do anything, resulting in a FULL BRICK PSP. I'm not sure why it's doing that on some PSP's, i hear other people are not having any problems with it.. What gives..
Anyway, i just went and sticked with my 5.00m33-6. At least i can play Final Fantasy Dissidia on that, but it sucks coz i can't play Soul Caliber Broken Destiny coz it needs the 5.50 firmware.. Same for Madden'10 i think..
I'm so glad that i haven't tried installing this. FTB3 better be good cause I'm removing my CFW to play it.
ya i have had a couple problems with gen b 5.50 such as psp didn't ever recover from standby and the pandora option in the vsh menu never worked correctly, but it worked in recovery. and yes alot of the homebrew that i was running didn't run. in turn i downgraded to 5.00 m33-6 and all better i can play dissidia and hopefully SC:BD
Hey everyone! Guess what? I got bricked by this! ROFL. And... I did everything right. I was on :laugh:5.00 M33-6 but went down to FAIL/BRICK:mad:
For people who keeps bricking their PSP when installing this firmware, or hanging/freezing when updating resulting in a brick. The problem is the update file itself..
I got a working 5.50 GEN-A [Full] and 5.50 GEN-B updates that fully work, tried and tested it last night and got it working on my PSP Slim Star Wars Edition running 5.00 m33-6..
I updated to it trying to see if that Hannah Montana: Rock Out the Show game would work but still it didn't so i went back to my 5.00m33-6..
Anyway, there is news that 6.00 OFW is coming out tomorrow, the 10th of Sept. Now let's just see if it's real and hopefully the M33 guys would come out with an upgrade to their 5.00...

Sounds like you have a semi-brick PSP there King_Mac...
See if you can access the recovery menu... If not, you'll need a pandora battery and a MMS to unbrick your PSP and install CFW on it..

I did everything carefully, run the installer ok it was loading then after that it restarted my psp. Went to check the verison of my psp and it says 5.02 GEN-A (full) Thank you ALOT BRO. I really wanted to go down after all these stuff. It didn't upgrade to gen-b it just went to 5.02 GEn-A (full) and first it was 5.50 thank you alot

You just have to find the one that'll work for your PSP... I found one that works on mine.. Let me know if you wanna try that.

when is a genc or 5.55 cfw or for hat matter we need a 6.00 cfw soo what hapened to dark-alex did sony finally have him "taken out"
But sure, if you have 5.50 gen-a and update this to 5.50 gen-b it will not go there. It will go to 5.02 Gen-A (Full)

The installer files are corrupted or something.. I went through updating 5.50 GEN on my PSP that's running 5.00 M33-6 3 times and they all ended up bricking my PSP. Those files came from 3 different sources as well..
Until i found a fourth one that looked promising and it worked for me.. Either that, or use XGEN Updater by Yoshihiro. You can flash straight to 5.50 GEN B with that..
fuck gen, its pointless now cause sony made so even 5.50 gen-b users cant access psn, which is the only upside to using this fw and risking a brick to install it. the best that can be done now is patching the new games with yoshihiro's app. im so glad i didnt install this crap, 5.00-6 is still the best thing going rt now

I even tried deleteing all other apps, ISOs, and CSOs that are displayed where the Update Tool is.
Can anyone help?
EDIT: Turns out the Homebrew mut be set to 5XX Kernal. I will leave the above for refrence.

I went to Settings --> System Settings --> System Information and it still said I have 5.00 m33-6
Same thing happen with GEN-B
I'm running m33-3 and I put this on my msroot like it said in the instructions ran both a and b but my system info still says m33-3?? Am I missing something? I checked out the GenC and it comes with a 5.50pbp, does this one need a pbp file?
