uh, I haven't tried with a 2nd gen, I would assume so if you use redsn0w.
They came out with a new QuickPWN for the 2G iPod.It's as easy to hack as the first gen now.
But yea, buy an iPod Touch.
Im thinking about getting the 16gb because its twice the size as 8gb for 70 more bucks....
