My mom got fed up with me and my brothers not obeying her. so she didn't feed us for about 7 hours . So i got pissed and called my aunt/uncle/grandma, and my mom's relationship with her side of the family isn't too swell so she got even more pissed and i got in HELLA trouble.

18 is when i'm getting out. ahha

i think it makes it worst. its like u dont wanna be near whoever grounded u for awhile.
my mom or dad never grounded me when i was growing up! they pulled out a big ass belt O_o
so its like...
being grounded = very slow pain
taking a whipping = the quick "MOTHAFUCKA-DAT-HURTS" kinda pain (u'll get over this one quicker...well it depends lol)

In my opinion it does the opposite of helping. The child doesn't think "Oh, next time I better not do what I did, or I will lose my stuff." Rather, the thought process goes like this, "Next time I better not get caught, or I will lose my stuff." It doesn't teach children to stop the behavior, just to do it so they don't get caught. Plus taking their stuff away just pisses them off and they will try and get it back.
