Sony Denies PS3 Update v3.61 as the Cause to Overheating

PS3's version 3.61 update is causing a whole lot of trouble for console owners. Now, Sony releases an official statement, denying that their update is the source of the overheating issues.

Confronting the issue with Edge, Sony said that while they are aware of the issues surrounding their recent update, which lets users change their passwords in light of the recent breach on the PSN, it is not the one to blame for the reports of overheating units.

Said Sony, there currently is "no evidence to indicate firmware 3.61 is casuing any issues with PS3s." Apart from that, they did not elaborate on the matter. Rockstar, meanwhile, who was first alerted about the problem since it was discovered upon loading their L.A. Noire has already updated their website to provide a workaround for the problem.
