help with xbox live

I finally got network cable for xbox 360 and I need some help setting it up. ok so Im going to hook it up to my cable modem right? well I can hook the cable up to my xbox but i need help with the hookin it up to the cable modem part. first of all, i need to tell u this, the back of the cable modem there is only one ethernet port and it is being used to hook up the internet for my computer with the wireless router. and i cant hook up the cable to the router because of how far away the router is. any help???

mine is hooked up to my router,you should have 100 feet of cable,it cant reach?thats where the cable plugs into,the router

You might want to spend the money for a wireless adapter for the 360. Otherwise, running a really long ehternet cord is the only answer.

Wireless hookup isnt too bad but if you can run a long ethernet cord to your xbox do that.

buy a long ass ethernet cable....or go wireless with $100 adapter

um i can use those cables used for phones right? idk because the ends are smaller than the ones on the cable that i got

also do i unplug the cable from my computer or do i just plug it into another port. oh and doesnt the wireless adapter get bad connection

well u could disconnect the cable 4rm the comp.but u wont be able 2 use internet on ur comp.....the adapter gets bad connection if ur far away...
