Psp won't turn on unless i bang it on hard surface
Hey guys,
Here's the problem.
i dropped my psp a couple of times, and of course it works still, but now 6 months after i dropped it, it won't turn on. the green light will turn on for 2 secs and shut off. If I tap it on a hard surface, it will turn on, but will freeze after 5 to 15 mins of use. game or xmb. doesn't matter. so i was wondering if anyone had the same problem and had fixed it before or even had any suggestions.
Thanks in return.
Re: Psp won't turn on unless i bang it on hard surface
try and drop it again. (don`t do that!)
i think its a hardware problem not a software. Try to take the faceplate off and see wats wrong.
Re: Psp won't turn on unless i bang it on hard surface
i thought that was it, my grandfather is an electronics repair man, and although he's never fixed psp's he said it was probably a connection error, but he has no screwdrivers to take the faceplate off with. He can get the boards for $5 but of course he cant get the screwdriver. :(
Re: Psp won't turn on unless i bang it on hard surface
It could Be a Dust problem. Try removing the faceplate and blow it with compressed air. if that does not work there could be a software problem

i meant a hardware problem
Re: Psp won't turn on unless i bang it on hard surface
I Don't Think it's software as i have had 5.00 m33-6 and it was fine for awhile then this started happening so i updated to 5.50 GEN-B and the same thing happened and i went all the way back to 3.80 and it still did it so i decided it wasn't software and went back to 5.50 GEN-B... but i will try the compressed air and if that doesnt work... i just got myself a $200 doorstop.....
*edit*
lol... i just saw the typo edit....
well, now at least you know my fw history... ill see what i can find....

Fixed! I guess when it dropped the cable that connects the main powerboard to the lcd had become slightly disconnected. i went to take the board out and the cable came out so easy i thought i broke it...... but now it is all fixed. no problems..... no freezing anymore.... ty all for your help... it was greatly appreciated.
