no theres no way to jailbreak an ipod touch 3g without it being a tethered one. i havent heard anything on the 3g ipod in a long time.
Yea I heard greenp0sion can but they haven't released it yet
as far as I know (I don't have a 3g itouch, if I did I would've figured it out by now) it's still only tethered. I BELIEVE there is an iBoot exploit that will cause it to be untethered, but I'm not sure.
They won't release it until 4G phones come out :(

Which is why you should of gotten a 2generation one, i didn't know and jailbroken my friends, but now he cant use themes since everytime you install winterboard it needs to respring which causes it to be re-jailbroken.
