I would get Avast! Antivirus. Its fairly decent. Don't by any means get Norton or Symantec.

my best advice: go to best buy to the Apple section, pick out an imac or mac mini or something, buy it, go home and throw the old PC out the window. (now to something worthwhile) on my VMWare image of vinders xb (vmware allows me to run multiple OS' within osx) I use Avast
I have norton and it really slows down your computer and it blocks some sites :(. I would suggest looking into other antivirus before getting norton. and yea... a mac would be way better then a pc

ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus Seems to do alright.
When I buy my laptop Norton 360 was preinstalled. It was crap.
After it experied I got ESET and it detected like 5 worms and trojans and cleaned them.
So norton is crap
