PSP firmware 5.03 out now *update*

Heads up, people. There's a new system update coming for the Sony PlayStation Portable. Don't hit that Network Update icon just yet, though (and if you're a homebrew user, why would you?). It's not out yet. PSN Operations director Eric Lempell says it should be out "soon", though.

So far, no changelog, but firmware 5.03 supposedly includes "a security patch for the PSP's system software." Could this be Sony's answer to the GripShift exploit? Very possible. Stay tuned for more updates.

*Update* Word on the PlayStation forums is that the update is now live. As Lempell said, all 5.03 has is the following:
New for 5.03: A security patch was added to address security vulnerabilities in the system software.

Where did you copy this from? And anyways it doesn't matter from 3.90 M33 + or what ever CFW it is the Network Update updates your CFW to a newer CFW if there is one.

does it do it as a background download or it tells you when its updating

it was 3.80 m33 when that came out

lol i found this online also

i used to think ofw was the best until cfw came along. sony is too worried about angry customers who bricked their psp's rather than add new features.

It depends on the CTF you are using.

Lol Man I wish they'd come out with a 5.02m33 lol I cant find it it's all oe-a(or what ever they call it m33 is better lol) and they always say it's gonna "stop" hacking but what it's only gonna do is piss us off

well, it dosnt matter anyways, until Sony stops there BS by blocking folder types and all that junk.... Dark-Alex will not release a custom firmware... So THANKS SONY FOR SKREWING US ALL!!! Even the people that dont hack are getting raped
