ok,i was sending an email to someone then outa the blue,some virus scanner thingy appears,i just let it chill and scan my systemit was called AVG
i close it when it was done,and now everytime i go onto IE,i got another IE saying risk of virus attack,and when i go to CD it looks broken,it removes the skine and a buncha broekn images andshit,im scaaning with avast atm.
anyone know what happened?and zeus,can you gme a DL link to sybot again?
Ahh. You are infected with a virus / malware / trojan what ever you want to call it. It was most likely a pop up which wanted you to download something which inturn was a virus and just infected you. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add and Remove Prorgams
look for Windows Anti Virus 2008
or something like that.
That is a virus.
Just remove it like normal with add and remove programs ( does minimal. but it gets rid of it from there. )
Then download SpyBot S & D here.
Scan and remove all infections.. If you have ANY pop up open up or ANY errors afterwards you need to tell me, or reply here in the thread.
i searched for that,it wasnt there...,and im doing a thorough scan threw avast,so it will be a while more,and ima start up the sbsd now

ok,avast found maleware,which i moved to the virus chest,but it still has 44% to scan,and sbsd found 21 counts of adware so far...

ok,avast found melware in limewire,sbsd found the melware from the AVG stuff

..i couldnt find it on the program/file list...and it still keeps popping up,and CD still gets broken,but i removed the Maleware C with sbsd....and all the other maleware i had,wtf?

Go to Start > Run > Regedit
Click the + sign next to the following..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SOFTWARE - Microsoft - Windows - Current Version - RUN ( ONLY CLICK THE FOLDER FOR RUN, DON'T CLICK THE + )
Take a screen shot of that in full screen view.
And then go back to the top and close HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Now do the same with HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKEY_CURRENT_USER - SOFTWARE - Microsoft - Windows - Current Version - RUN
Take a screenie of that too.
Do you have a program on your computer called "Persistance" or "Igfx"?
nope,i dont,and should i get rida adware alert,it showed up in sbsd...
Alright your going to need to go back into both of those and delete the following by name.
Igfx
Persistance
AdwareAlert
Then click RunOnce the folder right below Run then click back on Run, if any of those came back and are there again tell me.
Adware Alert was the only one the came back
Turn off your computer then turn it on and keep tapping F8 as soon as you turn it on. It will come to a boot menu. With the arrow keys go to "Safe Mode" then login and go back to adware alert and delete it. Then do the same thing to check if it comes back.Quote:
