You know what pisses me off?

In the Mac commercials they say things like

"PC's have 1000's of virus's, while mac only has a few".

The reason this pisses me off is it's completely false.

I'm glad you asked. They're advertising a MAC vs a PC...correct?

So they have NO business saying that a MAC doesn't have virus's. Their operating system may not have virus's and WINDOWS does have virus's...PC is hardware, so is a mac. If you install Windows on a Mac it will have 1000's of virus's. Where, if you install Linux on a PC...Now it's the one with just a few virus'.

Get my point. They're advertising their OS...and using it to insult ALL pc's regarless of the PC's OS.

Only reason Mac doesn't have a lot of viruses is because the majority of people use ms windows as an os.

Yeah, exactly. So if people who are using macs, installed XP then they would have just as many viruses.

macintosh is the brand name, that includes the hardware as well as the software. Also by saying mac most people think mac os x, by saying pc most people think windows. It's a marketing thing as well as a time saver (saying PC takes less time then windows, mac takes less time then saying mac os x)

how, they're referring to mac as the software, which doesn't get viruses. The whole commercial is about the software. If they did one about hardware it would take an entire commercial brake

Is it even possible to upgrade anything on a MAC like a PC? Hardware wise?

yea, you can upgrade just about everything on a mac except the graphics card
