5.50 GEN-D2 Custom Firmware

This will allow you to run 5.55 and 6.00 games. If it requires GEN-B you can get it HERE. Any other CFW requirements can be found below.

5.50 GEN-C Installation:
1.) Download the 5.50 GEN-C file below.
2.) Open your PSP up in USB mode.
3.) Go inside the MS_ROOT folder of the 5.50 GEN-C file your just downloaded and drag all the contents of it to your Memory Stick's Root.
4.) Run the installer.
5.) Click Install 5.50 GEN-C.

I'm not sure? Yoshihiro didn't give much info on updating. You'll just have to try and see.

Gen-c has been causing problems so they are working on gen-d now which should be out soon.

hmm is it worth updating to this or should I stay with gen b

Like Scal24 said, it's been reported as not working properly and GENyUS are working on a 5.50 GEN-D..

Although i haven't really noticed anything wrong with 5.50 GEN-C, maybe except for my CXMB which doesn't work after updating to GEN-C and still not able to log on PSN.

do we have any idea when GEN-D will be getting released or has nothing really been said about it yet?

No word on it's release..

But they said they wanna make sure it's fully tested before they release it so chances are probably by the end of this week or next week... Hopefully. :taz:

true but i would update to gen-c then to gen-d just to be safe about it.
if you dont want gen-c just wait till gen-d comes out and then just do the two upgrades one after the other.

GEN A and GEN B both caused problems, specifically with fully bricking PSP's hopefully they will slowly patch that problem up, so until it happens im not getting any of the GENS

it semi bricked my phat... skipping b and semi bricked it with out skipping so i fail =) but i got gen c still =) but psn network dont work?

yea but I have 5.50 genb-2 and I tried the rr online only and I froze when it started

LOL I tryed to go from 5.00 m33-6 to GEN-C and then used my Pandora for 4.01 m33-2 beacause GEN-C was to buggy. Now it says system software is 4.01 to start you need 5.03 do you want to update now? I pressed no and it said I need to upgrade before my next use lol I suck. (not literly) Im puttng in the 5.00 m33-6 now. Ok its done. W0000T!! It works!! Yay!! lol =P

I don't know considering Gen D-2 is coming out now..

GEN-D is required to update to GEN-D2.

Ok... after ^that^ I put in the GEN-C installer and after it got to 100% it shutdown by its self, the last time I put GEN-C in it gave me the option to X = Reboot O = Shtdown. Altho I went to Settings --> System Settings --> System Information and it says "5.50 GEN-C (Full)"

Ok I dont think the above matters because I put in GEN-D. I went to Settings --> System Settings --> System Information and it says "5.50 GEN-D (Full)" So wahtever.

Now im putting GEN-D2 and the screen is blank although you can see the backlight and can tell its not off. The MS Light flashes for ½ a second then turns off for 2.01 seconds (yes I timed both). Ok its now been doing this for a boring 15 minutes. Im afriad to shut it off. What do I do?

I pulled out the battery when the MS light was flashing because i'd prefer to screw up replaceable files then my PSPs Flash... I turned it back on, so far so good. I went to Settings --> System Settings --> System Information and it says "5.50 GEN-D (Full)". Im going to try it again... Still the same shit. I went to the GEN-D recovery menu (the green looks cool! so much for livelier then the dark red from the m33 FWs), and switched the Homebrew folder to 1.5 and the UMD mode to m33 driver. Im running the D2 installer.... again! WHAT THE FUCK! STILL THE SAME FUCKING SHIT! Why wont this stupid ass motherfucking shit work?

Suggestions anyone?

Yo, you can confirmed by me also update from psp genb to D then update D2. This works . so you dont have to update to c in between,

went from GEN-B2 straight to GEN-D with no issues at all.
just so you know, you will have to reset all of your settings after this update.

yea dont skip.. i bricked my psp cuz i had Gen-A and i went straight to Gen-C and it bricked my psp fully.. I kno im dumb but now i have to unbrick it.. If u have a way for me 2 unbrick my psp 1001 because i never bricked my psp before.. Pm me or rep this message thanks..

ok I only have 1 last question. Does the psn work on it cause with gen b-2 psn doesnt work anymore but im guessing it does to play the new games that require psn but just asking

i have one problem with this. it wont let me in the psp store. it says i need to update. i updated the new GEN-d2. idk whats wrong

:sad::sad:I have this cfw. But i cant use psn. I can however use hacks. Whenever I try to get on psn i get this weird error(even with all plugins disabled)after the error i am returned back to the vsh menu and my psp's wlan light is on even if i turn my wlan switch off.

So, with D2 people can't play online. This is bullshit. DA needs to make more M33.

For some reason, after i installed 5.50 Gen-C i bricked my psp, then unbricked it and installed the 5.50 Gen-D and D2, so i don't know what went wrong, but, it worked so thanks.
