Need help with my acer laptop!

Ok i have a acer aspire 5100 laptop. It was AMAZING. no freezing, nothing, just pure awesomeness. I sold to my cousin and now i have bought it back, they had freaking game decrypters and crap on it. i went on it played some runescape n stuff but every second it would freeze then unfreeze. i mean like it would run as fast as a brand new computer then start freezing for about 40 seconds. then back to normal, now heres the shocking thing, i REINSTALLED windows got everything downloaded. went on runescape and it did the same thing. If someone could give me a real answer you will get all my vbux and rep+. thanks

Could mean a lot of things:

1. Connection to internet is slow.
2. Viruses, trojans, etc.
3. Too many applications running at once.

EDIT: Just re-read it. Make sure nothing is loose in the computer. My brother had the same problem, and it happened to be that the RAM stick was loose.

Its gotta be the connection to internet is slow. because i dont have any viruses. i only run one thing at a time. plus i do have 3 mb high speed lolz

Damn that's slow as fuck. And I don't mean like you have six Firefoxes running at once when I say you have too many applications. If you hit CTRL+ALT+DELETE and go to the task manager, click the tab that says "processes". See if there's anything that doesn't belong.

EDIT: And leave the SHITows scene. Move to Linux.

That's just your WiFi rating. So like if you actually had 36 Mbps, then you could go that fast. Mine says 54 Mbps when I only have 1.5 Mbps.

Try what Jordan said and make sure your RAM didn't come lose. Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Information

Look at Available Physical Memory. If you have 4 gigs of RAM, make sure it doesn't say anything less like one gig. If it does either the RAM is loose or it's dead.

Then its most likely the ram XD. i do have like 300 mb lulz. because its not only on the internet its just on the desktop playing pinball and crap lol

edit: i checked in system information and it says i have 120.30 mb available physical memory

So all that problem is the ram?. I do have a old computer downstairs that just doesnt start for some reason it probaly has 2 gb ram i can put in this piece of junk

Where would ram go in a laptop? is there a difference between ram in a desktop and laptop. reply please

google it!

Googled and found out = NO you cannot put desktop ram into a laptop.
So looks like ill just have to buy laptop ram later on

Actually dont upgrade your computer that is the reason why you computer is going slow if it gets to slow i recomend using your back up cds (thats if you have them) it will go as fast as it was when you first bought it

BB meant upgrade the RAM. Pretty much all laptops come with 2 GB minimum. They don't even make 120 MB of RAM so I think one of your RAM may be messed up and is dying, because I had a 1 gig that after a year starting only showing 527 MB. Had to replace it.

I could have told you that. Use amazon, 2 GB on there is anywhere from 30$-50$ depending on the brand.

Your RAM might be dead or isn't connected correctly if the laptop was jerked around. If it's dead your probably going to have to order RAM online, you probably wouldn't find it in the store. They usually have a certain type of RAM for a specific type of laptop.

And bluehornet I don't see why upgrading your computer would make it slower in any way.

Ehm. Well this is for zeus and you. i know its not loose or anything, i had 1 gb when i started and i got photoshop. whats that 900mb? thats probaly why.

It doesn't physically take the memory when you install photoshop it only uses it when it needs it, its not like space on a hard drive. It is open for use unless another program is using it. In the case that you have photoshop open and then your trying to do something else its probably going to be really slow because all your RAM is being used on photoshop.
