"Rehacking" the PSP.

Alright, here's the skinny. I have this old, busted PSP-2000 that I need to take apart and fix. That's not the problem.

The problem is that I need to upgrade it with CFW. I know it's been hacked before, with what I believe was 5.00 M33 CFW. Now it's version 6.10 Official, because my friend borrowed it and upgraded it officially to play Dissidia Final Fantasy (which needs at least 5.50 OFW to play).

I started reading McKinney's guide to brick down the PSP. I don't have Liberty City stories, so I know it's not going to work. Besides, my PSP has been modified before.

So do I have to downgrade my PSP again before upgrading it with CFW? And if so, what is the latest CFW I can use that will run CWCheat?

you need a pandora battery and mms
the latest is 5.50 gen-d2 i think
and you can run any cheat system on it

i'm not sure the battery and mms i got from pandora sales let me start my psp up while holding L and it installed 4.00m33 for me and i was running 5.03 ofw before that so if that helps any...

Your going to need the 6.10 exploit... Pandora Batterys wont fit in the 2000s Battey Holder.

P.S. beides you, why would be dumb enough to lend someone a high end electonic like a PSP? I hope you learned your lesson. (No Offense)

He's a good friend and I trust him, I just forgot to tell him I have CFW. I have two PSPs, so I like one to me modified.

Alright, I'll probably have to downgrade then. Is the only way to downgrade with Liberty City Stories?

Tell us what mobo you have. Some old 2000 mobos can accept Pandora Batteries. If so, look for a tutorial to comply. Or I'll find one for you.(When I get time):dry:
The latest CFW is 5.50 GEN-D3, so use that. And they are making real exploit for latest firmware, so I'll keep you posted....ish...

Why don't you just get a Pandora Battery and then get the 5.00 M33 exploited files; and then put those files on a Memory Stick, and then put the MS in the PSP, and then put the PB in the PSP; and finally install 5.00 M33 along with any updates like M33-6 or M33-7 (but I don't know if that M33-7 is real by Dark Alex).

That's the only way to do it; a PB and a MMS. I only recommend M33 because GEN sucks in my opinion. Everything works on 5.00 M33 whether the way it is or a patched version.
