https://www.consolediscussions.com/f...19d880_m-1.jpg CAN access the RECOVERY MODE (turn your PSP on holding the "R" button)
FULLY-BRICKED PSP: Your PSP turns on with a BLACK screen + can't access RECOVERY mode...
SEMI-BRICKED PSP: Your PSP turns on with a BLACK screen + you can access RECOVERY mode...
http://www.johnson-county.com/record...ated_arrow.gif You can downgrade custom firmware 3.80m33 + 3.90m33 + 4.01m33 WITHOUT PANDORA by downloading the 3.71m33 recovery file below
(I tested it twice and it worked both times!)

VERY special thanks to carbonfor finding an unexpected error in the 4.01m33 download (fixed now)
VERY special thanks to dnice9032for finding an unexpected error in the 3.71m33 download (fixed now)
Recover your PSP to 4.01m33 DOWNLOAD THIS
https://www.consolediscussions.com/f...be2BLogo-1.jpg
(I STRONGLY recommend 3.71m33 because with the PSP it's WAY easier to UPGRADE than downgrade)
After downloading and EXTRACTING - you'll have a folder called RECOVERY.
This folder goes into PSP\GAME
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ Turn your PSP ON holding the "R" button (to access RECOVERY MENU) and select TOGGLE USB.
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ Plug your PSP to the computer (USB etc) and transfer the above download "recovery" folder (for 3.71m33 or 4.01m33) to PSP\GAME (over ride if it asks you to),
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ Go to CONFIGURATION and set your "autorun program at..." to ENABLED
https://www.consolediscussions.com/f...7bff-1.jpg?v=0
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ to BACK and then select "RUN PROGRAM AT..."
https://www.consolediscussions.com/f...19d880_m-1.jpg
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ You'll see something like this
https://www.consolediscussions.com/f...9aa1-1.jpg?v=0
(I selected I agree, now take me to the program)
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ Select "flash new 3.71m33" or "4.01m33" whichever you downloaded above
https://www.consolediscussions.com/f...5b11-1.jpg?v=0
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ There is one more menu. I selected "reset (format) settings as well". This will reset the TIME AND DATE + PSP name etc. If you don't want to start up the TIME and DATE again...select "do not reset..." and press X
https://www.consolediscussions.com/f...955c-1.jpg?v=0
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ Give it a moment and it'll start doin' it's thing
https://www.consolediscussions.com/f...a3fb-1.jpg?v=0
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ When done... "press any button"
https://www.consolediscussions.com/f...66df-1.jpg?v=0
https://www.consolediscussions.com/forum/ NOTE: When you press "X" to shut down your SCREEN may appear turned off while your power light may start blinking or stay solid. You can remove the battery and then put it back in and turn your PSP back on and everything should be fine.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are downgrading your PSP custom firmware, you may get get this blue error screen
http://skattertech.com/media/2006/01....thumbnail.jpg
Just press CIRCLE like the screen suggests...and your PSP should re-start again and then boot up asking for the TIME AND DATE config. stuff.

Re: Fix A Semi Brick Without A Pandora.
Wow I knew about this, but I didn't think about using it to fix semi-bricks. Nice find. I always ue the 'Run Program At' to run Xplora everything I mess up my PSP when changing my gameboots, XMB waves etc.... Never though of using it to fix semi-bricks.
And doesn't the autorun option make it run everytime you turn on your PSP?
Re: Fix A Semi Brick Without A Pandora.
When I bricked my PSP I did EBOOT.PBP it still couldn't recover the psp. :(
