You made a small error... You need the BNE to branch off to lw a0 and lui s0,4000 is adding the value to a function... This method is only used for calling on functions! Srry man. You might want to remove that code.

i went off that templete thing u posted. and i was thinkin if i add another jal to point to another routine or something it would also activate with the button right
