    Internet explorer doesn't use ports. Its only a browser. Sites use ports though. Most HTTP sites use port 80 and most HTTPS sites use port 443 for SSL. Im not even sure if they can use other ports it might just be those two. Anyways heres a list of TCP & UDP ports and what the common use is for.
