A new "coin system" has been set up to when you complete songs you get coins. They can be used to purchase avatar items, backrounds, etc. It seems kinda cheap to me but whatever.

It was a beta in Tap Tap Revenge 2, but Chatting to other Tapulous users is finally here in TTR3. Think of this app as a social network of its own – You’ve got the addictive tapping sensation on one side, and then you can chill out in a chat room or customize your avatar or send messages to other users through your inbox.
