Ubuntu is way better than Windows. Except for certain things like an SMS Bomber I was trying to get working and couldn't because Wine wouldn't work.

Just write one, it isn't that hard on Linux

I don't really know anything than the basics in a bunch of programming languages and I still don't get a lot in Linux. Especially how pretty much everything is non visual and command line.
