    Laptop BSOD After Startup

I'm getting pissed off. I'm thinking this is a hardware issue since IDK of a virus that would just give you BSOD out of no where. It's whole point is to spread... it can't do that if the computer don't work now does it.

I would fix the problem myself, but I don't have enough time to screw around in the settings, because this is what happens.

I start the computer. It boots fine I see the Windows Vista loading bar. It takes a little longer than it should. It goes into Windows. Now about 5 minutes later... Blue screen of death. NO REASON, everytime. I've tried like 6 times.

Try and get the error code when you get the BSOD written down and google that. That will give you a good understanding of the problem.

Hmm strange. After like 10 restarts the problem went away. I believe it was with Windows Updates, since everytime I booted up it would install the updates. Then when I went into Windows it would BSOD after I got another message saying Windows Updates are available.

Hmm, thats odd. Anyways I had this one BSOD that kept coming back, and apparently it was a .SCR file in System32 that was corrupt, and the funny thing is it was from a program, like lightscribe kind of.

Could be bad ram. Try taking out 1 stick of ram at a time. If the problem stops, then you know what the problem is. I've had it once, and that's what the problem was.

Oghh, On a laptop? That would be hardd. On a desktop that would be easy. But don't some laptops even have built in ram and you can't exchange it?

Yes on a laptop. It wouldn't be hard. Laptops break just like desktops. All laptops have "built in" ram, but i've never seen a laptop that doesn't have replaceable/upgradeable ram.
