Ich nahm eine deutsche Klasse seit meinen ersten zwei Jahren in der Höheren Schule, plus mein Urgroßvater ist deutsch, so wollte ich sicherstellen, dass ich es lernte.

And for the words I can't remember, I have a pretty good dictionary that my Great Grandfather gave me. Some of the words in English don't cross over so I have to use different words, but if I were to talk to a native German, they would most likely understand the just of what I was saying.
