your render positioning is way of, try keeping it somewhere close to the center but not
smack in the middle. effects are meant to enhances your focal so there is no point placing them away from it. another thing that will help your focals is flow make sure your effect dont go in random locations. what i started doing when i started was make small sigs, there where much easier to fill.
