I like the way it looks (I need to play the game too). I'm no expert but maybe it could use a little more depth or blending of the render to the BG?

Depth needed, blurring, needs blending, text isn't good, lighting seems a little weird to me.

Its okay for a starter, but you could prolly use some tuts.
