dude, if you got the drop bomb, it worked. you do L and [] and then, when you get stuck at the Drop Bomb part, you have to use a player animation (i use perfect respawn) to unfreeze yourself, but they will remain frozen, and leave the game.

If they didnt freeze in the first place, then you were not close enough to them when you grabbed them. you have to be REALLY CLOSE to grab them.
