I did it on legendary alone against the first two wraiths you see. I shot them right between where they were going to be as soon as the flaming warthog passes. If you did it when you were playing co-op, try doing the campaign alone. I'm not sure why else it wouldn't work unless something else happened to blow up the vehicle at the same time you shot it.

Yeah I got it from the first 2 wraiths, in fact I was playing on normal, single player, and I was like LEROY JENKINS and armor locked till they both were right next to each other and dropped the hurt on them, bam first try...
The only achievements I have a hard time with are the pistol achievement which I couldn't get till I restarted the campaign for some reason, I have it now, and the other is If They Came to Hear Me Beg... I start on Pillar of Autumn and jump on the elite down the mountain and my feet still registered as hitting the ground, so it doesn't matter how many times I do it... also never jacked a Banshee

I just did it again 10 times and I didn't get anything.

Never-mind. I had to wait until they were right next to each other.

How & where do I get the elite with the falling.

I can assassinate that Elite but I don't get the animation assassination.
Do it on The Package using the Pro-Pipe.

I got the Achievement 3 minutes ago. I also found a glitch. When the checkpoint is loading you are immune to fall damage.

Yea, you also cannot be sprinting when you fall on him because you won't die from the fall. Most of the time if you jump off and assassinate him but don't get the achievement, it's probably because you wouldn't have died from that fall. You have to back off the sprint button once you're absolutely sure you will make it to the elite.
